Latest News Updates About-Harry Potter plagiarism case dismissed in U.S.-Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling with copying the work of another author when writing “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.”
The estate of late author Adrian Jacobs had said that the plot of the book, the fourth of seven in the wildly successful series that has been turned into a multi-billion-dollar film franchise, copied parts of the plot of his book “Willy the Wizard,” including a wizard contest, and that Rowling borrowed the idea of wizards traveling on trains.
Scholastic Corp, the U.S. publisher of the books, welcomed the move by judge Shira Scheindlin, quoting the judge as saying “…the contrast between the total concept and feel of the works is so stark that any serious comparison of the two strains credulity.”
“The Court’s swift dismissal supports our position that the case was completely without merit and that comparing Willy the Wizard to the Harry Potter series was absurd,” the firm said in a statement.
In October, a judge overseeing a similar plagiarism case at London’s High Court said that the claims made by Paul Allen, trustee of Jacobs’s estate, were “improbable,” though he turned down an application by lawyers

Christmas is coming, and magic is afoot-‘All Those Christmas Cliches” is a simple, beautiful song I heard for the first time this month. A woman sang it at Esmeralda’s Lounge at Riverside Theatre Works in Hyde Park on piano night, and people stopped talking and glasses stopped clinking and the crowd paid attention.
I don’t know why the radio stations don’t play it. They’ve been airing the same holiday tunes over and over for a month. This wistful ballad would be a nice addition.

After engaged to the model for a year, the Canadian singer plans to marry his fiancee on April 6, 2011, he announced during his appearance on “Today” show as reported by People.
The 35-year-old star, who previously was engaged to Emily Blunt, jokingly said they avoid to wed on April 29, 2011, which is the wedding date set by Prince William and Kate Middleton. “I was going to do it on [April] 29th, but figured I wouldn’t get any press,” he told the show.
Buble had previously revealed that he and Lopilato would have two ceremonies. The first will be in Lopilato’s native Argentina and the second in Vancouver. For their honeymoon, the couple plans a huge African adventure and wants to fit in some charity work for children’s causes while they’re there.
