Bank of America Corp. said that some of its customers are unable to access their accounts over the Internet on Friday afternoon.
Bank spokeswoman Tara Burke said that the outage began at 7 am Eastern time on Friday, and stemmed from an unspecified routine change to the bank's computer systems last night. Burke said the outage only affects a portion of the bank's customers.
"The majority of our customers are banking normally," she said.
But Burke declined to say how many customers might be affected, or whether the Internet outage was confined to a particular part of the US.
