Miss America 2011 The Miss America Pageant had all the shoes on display Friday for the traditional ‘Shoe Us Your Shoes’ Parade. The event sponsored by DSW Shoes and incorporated every contestant who walked up on stage and showed off some footwear.
Fans at Paris Las Vegas probably were probably thinking that the fashion footwear was going to be on the feet of Miss America 2011 contestants, but they would have been quickly corrected as they watched the contestants show off the decorated heels the ladies carried on stage.
Dressed to match the presentation, the actual footwear parade was about an individual decorated shoe that they made to symbolically remind people of the state they represented. Some used symbols or the state resources, others focused on universities and others found it particularly helpful to have signage. Giving details of their state and sharing a few facts, it was a quick shoe history lesson that was fun and delightful.
