Everyone is trying to get more healthy these days. At the beginning of the New Year there are plenty of resolutions flying around. Everyone wants to make sure that their waistline is decreasing and not increasing. This is the topic that is being spoken about in the Cherry Creek School District.
In the Cherry Creek School District they are taking things seriously. President Obama signed a bill “Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010” which was designed to allow low income kids to get high nutritional value foods. The school is fully behind this bill. Cherry Creek School District hopes to see some of the 4.5 billion dollars that the bill allows.
The Assistant Superintendent, Scott Siegfried is going to be considering a wide-range of ideas January 10th. They are going to try to figure out the best way to implement better food for kids. They are going to be comparing their current guidelines with the guidelines that are now required by the federal government. Bravo Cherry Creek School District for doing the right thing for our kids.
