Hours after Skype, the popular Internet voice calls service, went down on Wednesday for more than 20 million users, Twitter is now experiencing problems as well.“Twitter is currently down for some users. We are aware of the problem and working on it,” said the company on its tech support blog minutes ago.
The two outages may not be entirely unrelated. Many Skype users took to Twitter to complain about the service going down. And Skype itself has told users to stay tuned for updates about the service through its Twitter account. Pure speculation, but perhaps those droves of Skype-complainers overloaded Twitter’s system.
