Ryan Reynolds has filed for divorce from Scarlett Johansson with the actress immediately filing her response.
The 34-year-old actor lodged his divorce petition in Los Angeles Superior Court late Thursday, naming the official date of separation as December 14, 2010, the day the pair announced the end of their two-year marriage.
Sources close to the couple believe the divorce filings were carefully co-ordinated and say both agree on all terms.
There is no prenuptial agreement in place and neither party is seeking spousal support from the other, although Ryan is reported to have made more money than his actress wife during the course of their two-year marriage.
