So warns the promos for this new film with an old theme. If you’re curious to know what all the hype is about Skyline, it’s basically an alien movie starring Donald Faison playing a salesman who encourages his longtime buddy Jarrod, into a night of non-stop partying and drinking.
They wake up with the world’s worst hangover: giant beams of light swallowing up anything that gets near it. Black coffee and aspirin won’t help matters here. The rest of the film, as you can imagine, involves the protagonists trying to escape the mayhem and figure out what’s going on and why it’s happening.
Skyline Review says: We have seen so many alien-based and these are typically ill-received by movie critics, while usually loved by moviegoers. With Skyline there was a nice blend of CGI effects and it came together really well. You’ll probably feel inklings of the director’s other movies, but this is OK because every director has their signatures. Sure, we may have seen movies very similar to this one, but it’s done well enough so that we don’t seem to mind.
